It is been pointed out by senior theatre veterans that theatre practices in India are “scattered” and need “cohesive restructuring” and Delhi is not an exception. A large body of serious/honest work is created and performed on Delhi stage and goes unnoticed.

United Theatre Guild (UTG) is an initiative by Atelier to organize and structure the theatre activities in Delhi. The focus of the guild will to be to professionalize the practices and consolidate the groups to empower the practitioners and enthusiasts. Besides, UTG will also focus on creating & evolving employment and opportunities through alliances with other bodies. Needless to say, extensive networking will be done to create/rejuvenate the audience and make theatre a “total” experience for audience and performers alike. We invite professional/amateur/college theatre groups to be a part of this endeavour and help us create this movement.

We are open to suggestions with substantial reason.

OBJECTIVES:

1) To organize theatre activities as a cohesive act & help each other grow as a group.

2) To network for the performances happening throughout the year.

3) To collate & build a database to reach out to the larger cross-section of audience.

4) To further create sensitive audience through talks and chamber/lawn performances.

5) To help the group in production and related activities when the performance of the same group is slated.
