DILLINAMA
In the quest to understand our Delhi through literature, Sufis, poets and people, this theatre production is a tribute to 100 years of Delhi (1911-2011) as the capital of the largest democracy. Dilliwallas of yesteryears, faqirs, anecdotes, legends, myths, monuments and most importantly the attitudes and sensibilities, all form what we call “Dilli”, which is not just a region for us, now.
Based on William Dalrymples’ City of Djinns, this production takes its cues from Khushwant Singh’ autobiography Truth, Love and a Little Malice, Delhi and Dilli… Jo Ek Shahar Tha....by Danish Iqbal as well.
DILLINAMA is an initiative of NEW ERA PUBLIC SCHOOL facilitated by ATELIER THEATRE.
